Along with multi-sig bitcoin wallets and a P2P Marketplace, Cancoin also offers custom bitcoin price and volume alerts sent straight to your desktop, phone or email to help you stay on top of the latest bitcoin prices or volume numbers using your local currency.

Get sent a custom alert when your selected base price (a live currency variable - ex. USD, EUR, CAD, etc.) is crossed by your custom threshold value. The alert will contain a message letting you know if your base price is rising or falling.

Along with global price variables, you can also utilize volume and price change data from Markets around the world to trigger your custom alerts as well as prices from your favourite exchange such as Kraken or BTCe by using the script editor to create your base price. More on that in a future blog post.

Alerts sent via browser, desktop and email are always free. If you would like to also receive alerts via SMS, then you can purchase SMS credits in bitcoin through your account settings area.

To create a simple bitcoin market alert, use the following steps:

Login to your account or signup and visit the create alert page.
Select a simple Base Value currency from the dropdown menu. You can also use a multi-line script to determine your Base Value by clicking the Script tab. Your selected Base Value will populate the alert’s price history graph showing it’s 60 day trend.
Define your Alert Threshold. This value is what will determine when you are sent an Alert. If your Base Value crosses your Alert Threshold, you will be sent an alert letting you know the time and which way the threshold was crossed (above or below).
Save your custom alert. You can view and edit your alert at any time by logging in and visiting the Market Alerts page.

To receive free email alerts, use the following steps:

After signing up, view your inbox for an email from Cancoin to verify your email address. Click the link provided and login. If you have not received this email, login to your account and visit the Account Settings > Verifications page and click the ‘re-send verification email’ button.
Visit the Account Settings > Notifications page to ensure your email alerts are enabled.

To receive SMS alerts, use the following steps:

After logging in or signing up, navigate to the Account Settings > Verifications page.
Enter your SMS phone number and click the ‘submit’ button.
You will receive a 6 digit code from Cancoin to the phone number you supplied via SMS. Enter this number in the space provided and click the ‘submit’ button. If you did not receive an 6 digit code, you can click the provided link to try again.
Visit the Account Settings > Notifications page to ensure your SMS alerts are enabled.
